Paddling through a black hole

Paddling Through a Black Hole

When I entered the foggy green water I was first warned of the lurking danger. The possibility of alligators lying in wait near the coasts, but once I started going I forgot all about that. The refreshingly cold wind blowing against against me, and the constant struggle against the merciless current. I dug my paddle into the water with one hand on the top of it pushing down, and the other in the upper middle determining the direction. I dragged  the paddle back and up, and side to side in the murky water. My shoulders ached and cried out in agonizing pain and my obliques cursed with every twist. I did not matter though, nothing mattered anymore when I was in the water. I made it threw the alluring course with fire in my heart and exhausted muscles. I yearned for more struggle, and thirsted for more water to escape in.  I had paddled threw a winding marsh and to the end marked by a tree, but the journey was not over until I made it back to where I started.

The current was more lenient this time around. We were not on different side of a violent war, but instead we were fighting for the same purpose.  It took less strength to slide my paddle threw the water, so ignored my wailing muscles. The wind blew with me this time, and helped me float across the water. I paddled twice to the right and twice to the left. I had found a calm and tranquil  rhythm much earlier in my adventure, but know I was sprinting.  I rotated my board to fit threw the seemingly shrinking pathways, and abrupt turns. The shore started to come into view, but only as a blurry dot in the distance, but when I finally saw it everything changed.  I gathered all my strength, and everything I could find within the deepest darkest depths of me, and went for it. I did not pay attention to how much pain I was in I just kept going. My breathing was heavy and my chest was on fire, but the water was like ice and my board was rapidly gliding over it. After a few minutes of intense thrill and adrenaline I made it to the shore.
